Bringing History to Life & Awakening the Legends

Tom Hughes is an experienced storyteller with a wide repertoire of tales for many occasions.  He's shared stories in castles, cathedrals, historic houses, museums, art centres, in informal clubs and on festival stages.  From traditional performances, to interactive stories where the audience join in the tales, to story walks, there's all sorts of ways Tom brings our rich heritage to life.

Working in schools, Tom uses living history and storytelling to engage and inspire pupils.  He can often be found telling Anglo-Saxon and Viking tales, or donning the periwig to become Samuel Pepys to help pupils recreate the Great Fire of London.  The schools workshops give pupils the chance to become part of the story, a truly memorable experience.

Tom also brings music to the tales, with tunes on various bagpipes from across Europe.  Traditional tunes help to enhance the stories, set the scene and evoke the atmosphere of distant times and far off lands.
